The rules for using RentRight as a tenant, landlord, property manager, visitor, or account holder.

1. About These Terms

These Terms apply to the RentRight website, platform, and related services operated by RentRight Ltd.

RentRight Ltd is registered in Ireland under company number 783004. Registered office: Glebe Street, Ballinrobe, Mayo, F31 DW93, Ireland. Contact: sales@rentright.ie.

By creating an account, listing a property, using the platform, or paying a listing fee, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy.

2. What RentRight Does

RentRight is a technology platform that helps tenants and landlords discover potential rental matches, manage profiles and listings, exchange messages, and complete related platform workflows.

RentRight is not a letting agent, estate agent, property manager, landlord, tenant, broker, insurer, financial adviser, legal adviser, or party to any tenancy agreement unless we expressly say otherwise in writing.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login details secure.
  • You must not create accounts for someone else without authority.
  • You must tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised account use.

4. Tenant Responsibilities

Tenants are responsible for the accuracy of their profile, preferences, messages, documents, references, and any information shared with landlords or RentRight.

Tenants must not upload false, misleading, unlawful, or irrelevant documents. Tenants should redact unnecessary sensitive details before uploading verification documents.

5. Landlord Responsibilities

Landlords and property managers are responsible for ensuring that listings are accurate, lawful, up to date, and backed by the authority needed to advertise or manage the property.

Landlords must comply with applicable Irish housing, equality, consumer, advertising, safety, planning, RTB, BER, taxation, deposit, and tenancy laws. RentRight does not check or guarantee every legal obligation.

6. Listings, Moderation, and Visibility

RentRight may review, hold, disable, restore, archive, or remove listings where we believe this is necessary for quality, safety, legal compliance, platform trust, payment status, or these Terms.

Publishing a listing does not guarantee tenant interest, messages, viewings, applications, lease completion, rent payment, or a successful tenancy.

A listing may need photos, required fields, verification, admin approval, and a paid listing fee before it can go live.

7. Matching and Messaging

RentRight may use tenant preferences, property details, verification status, activity, and profile information to support matching, search, recommendations, and message flows.

Messaging is provided for genuine rental-related communication. Users must not use messages for harassment, spam, scams, discrimination, unrelated marketing, or unlawful activity.

RentRight may restrict messaging where verification, safety, moderation, or platform rules require it.

8. Verification

RentRight may provide phone, identity, tenant readiness, reference, landlord, or property-related verification workflows. Verification outcomes are platform trust signals only.

Verification does not guarantee that a user is suitable, solvent, honest, legally entitled to rent or let a property, or free from risk. Users must carry out their own checks and take independent advice where appropriate.

9. Payments, Listing Fees, and Refunds

Landlords may pay a listing fee through Stripe before a property is published. Prices and taxes are shown before checkout where applicable.

A paid listing fee gives access to the relevant RentRight listing publication workflow for that property. It does not guarantee approval, tenant interest, messages, viewings, applications, or a tenancy.

If you are a consumer buying online, you may have statutory cancellation and refund rights. Where you ask us to start supplying the paid service during the cancellation period, you acknowledge that your cancellation rights may be affected once the service has been fully performed.

Refund requests should be sent to RentRight support. We will assess refund requests in line with Irish consumer law, Stripe payment status, whether the listing service has started or been fully provided, and any platform breach or misuse.

10. Viewings, Tenancies, and Legal Agreements

Users are responsible for arranging viewings, checking identity, assessing property condition, confirming authority, negotiating terms, signing leases, paying deposits or rent, registering tenancies, and complying with legal obligations.

RentRight does not guarantee property condition, tenant suitability, landlord authority, availability, affordability, legal compliance, or tenancy performance.

11. User Conduct

  • Do not provide false or misleading information.
  • Do not upload unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, discriminatory, or infringing content.
  • Do not harass, threaten, abuse, spam, scrape, or discriminate against others.
  • Do not attempt to bypass security, verification, payment, moderation, or access controls.
  • Do not use RentRight for unrelated marketing, scams, or unlawful purposes.

12. Content and Intellectual Property

RentRight owns or licenses the platform, brand, software, design, and related intellectual property. Users must not copy, reverse engineer, or reuse RentRight materials without permission.

You retain ownership of content you upload, but you grant RentRight the rights needed to host, display, process, moderate, store, resize, and share that content for platform operation, safety, support, legal, and promotional listing purposes.

13. Privacy

RentRight processes personal data in line with the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and your data protection rights.

14. Availability and Changes

We aim to keep RentRight available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may suspend, change, test, remove, or limit features where needed for maintenance, security, legal compliance, product improvement, or business reasons.

15. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or close accounts, listings, payments, messages, or access where we believe a user has breached these Terms, created risk, misused the platform, failed verification, violated law, or harmed platform trust.

Users may stop using RentRight at any time. Certain records may be retained after account closure where needed for legal, accounting, tax, safety, fraud-prevention, dispute, or legitimate business reasons.

16. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Irish law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RentRight is not liable for indirect losses, loss of profit, loss of rent, loss of opportunity, loss of data, failed matches, failed tenancies, user conduct, property condition, fraud by users, or disputes between tenants and landlords.

RentRight's platform role is limited to providing technology services unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.

17. Indemnity

You agree to compensate RentRight for losses, claims, costs, damages, and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, unlawful conduct, inaccurate information, misuse of the platform, or content you upload, except to the extent caused by RentRight's own breach or negligence.

18. Complaints and Support

For support, complaints, refund requests, legal notices, or account issues, contact sales@rentright.ie. We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and investigate the issue.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Subject to any mandatory consumer rights, disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
